In an effort to promote corrupt-free offices and organisations, the Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC is working on a portal where workplace integrity can be viewed and the commission can intervene accordingly. Workplace integrity includes values of honesty, responsibility and accountability. Till now, the commission has been carrying out assessments of workplace integrity manually where it cannot intervene on time. The commission is expected to launch the portal called the Agency Integrity Maturity System or AIMS within this financial year.
According to officials, the portal will enable agencies to log in with their credentials and access relevant information from ACC.
It will be an interactive platform where agencies can upload reports and information, allowing for simultaneous updates and interventions from the ACC.
The portal will also allow the employees of the agencies to report corruption while maintaining anonymity.
During the recent Regional Seminar on Government Incentives for Corporate Anti-Corruption Compliance, officials said the portal is one of the key interventions under the Strategic Roadmap 2030 that ACC has launched in 2021.
The commission shared that once launched, the portal will help the agencies grow in a transparent and corrupt-free manner.
Rinchen Namgay, the head of Policy and Planning of the Anti-Corruption Commission said “The agency integrity maturity framework will outline the integrity score of each agency. We will complement this score with additional statistics and data, such as the system studies we have conducted, the recommendations implemented by the agency, the number of complaints received against that agency, and the investigations we have conducted. This comprehensive analysis will ensure that the head of the agency or its management is well-informed about their current interventions and whether these are effective, given their business model and governance framework.”
Currently, the commission is selecting the software developer for the portal from within the country.
The commission has allocated approximately Nu 1.7 M to develop the portal.
Through the interactive sessions via the AIMS portal, the commission hopes to ensure that Bhutan’s corruption perception index score meets the target set in the 13th Five-Year Plan.
