Army Lieutenant Makes History: Conquers Everest Summit

Today marks a historic moment as Lieutenant Jigme Pelden Dorje, hailing from the Royal Bhutan Army, etches his name in the annals of mountaineering. In a feat of extraordinary courage and determination, Jigme has become the first Bhutanese to conquer the formidable peak of Mt. Everest.

Accompanied by the seasoned guide Chakra Rai and supported by the remarkable team at Pioneer Adventure, Jigme reached the pinnacle of the world’s tallest mountain at 9:30 A.M. The journey commenced on May 16 from Everest Base Camp, setting the stage for a monumental achievement not only for Jigme but also for the entire Kingdom of Bhutan.
