A group of sixty De-suups from Bhutan departed for India this week to take part in a week-long Youth Friendship Camp hosted at the prestigious Officers Training Academy.
The newly introduced program aims to deepen cultural understanding and strengthen people-to-people ties between Bhutan and India. Over the course of the camp, participants will engage in cultural exchange activities, environmental conservation projects, and discussions on issues of shared interest.
De-suup Tandy, one of the participants, emphasized the opportunity for personal growth and learning, while Lt. Colonel Anup Kumar highlighted the camp’s broader diplomatic significance in fostering goodwill between the two neighboring nations.
Organizers hope that the initiative will pave the way for annual exchanges. Plans are already underway for reciprocal visits, with the National Cadet Corps of both countries expected to participate in future editions of the program.
The Youth Friendship Camp, though in its first year, is seen as an important step in reinforcing Bhutan and India’s enduring friendship while preparing the next generation to build on this close partnership.
