In a significant reshuffle of key constitutional offices, His Majesty The King has appointed new post-holders to several vital institutions of governance.
Pema Choden, who previously served as the Foreign Secretary, has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). She succeeds Deki Pema, who will now take on the role of Chief Election Commissioner, leading the Election Commission of Bhutan.
Jamtsho, who formerly served as a Member of the ACC, has been appointed as the new Auditor General, assuming responsibility for the Royal Audit Authority.
The Election Commission will also see new appointments with Jigme Thinley Namgyel and Sonam Pelden Thaye joining as Election Commissioners. Meanwhile, A.K. Rinzin and Gyeltshen have been re-appointed as Members of the ACC, ensuring continuity and experience within the Commission.
The new appointments reflect His Majesty’s continued commitment to strengthening Bhutan’s constitutional bodies, ensuring integrity, transparency, and efficiency in public service.
