Bhutan Agro Industries Limited has significantly expanded its bottled water production capacity with the launch of a new high-speed bottling line, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth strategy.
The newly installed system is capable of producing up to 320 bottles per minute—nearly three times the company’s previous output. This substantial increase comes in response to rising demand both within Bhutan and in international markets, where the company has steadily built a reputation for its natural spring water.
Exports currently reach countries such as Bangladesh, India, and Australia, and the company reports growing interest from additional overseas markets. The expansion is expected to strengthen Bhutan Agro’s ability to meet this demand while positioning the brand more competitively on the global stage.
Founded in 1999, Bhutan Agro has long been recognized for sourcing and bottling high-quality natural spring water. Chief Executive Officer Sherab Namgay reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining strict quality standards aligned with international benchmarks, even as production scales up.
Alongside increased capacity, the company is also prioritizing sustainability. The new bottling line incorporates energy-efficient technologies, and Bhutan Agro has introduced environmentally friendly packaging solutions, including recyclable BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) labels.
Industry observers note that the expansion could have broader economic benefits, including job creation and increased export revenues. For Bhutan Agro, the move represents not just an operational upgrade, but a strategic step toward reinforcing its presence in both regional and global markets.
With demand for bottled water continuing to grow worldwide, Bhutan Agro’s latest investment signals confidence in its ability to compete internationally while maintaining its core focus on quality and sustainability.
