His Majesty Appoints New Chief Justice and Ambassadors

In a significant ceremony held this morning, His Majesty The King conferred Dakyen to formally appoint the new Chief Justice of Bhutan, along with granting Dhar to two newly appointed ambassadors.

Justice Norbu Tshering, who previously served as a Justice of the Supreme Court, has now assumed the highest judicial position in the country as the new Chief Justice of Bhutan. His extensive experience in the judiciary is expected to further strengthen the rule of law and the administration of justice.

His Majesty also appointed two new ambassadors to represent Bhutan abroad. Phub Dorji, the former Thimphu Dzongda, has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Bhutan to the State of Kuwait. Meanwhile, Tshering Lhadn, who was serving as the Director of the Department of Economic and Tech Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, will now serve as Bhutan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

These appointments highlight Bhutan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its judiciary and enhance diplomatic relations with the international community.
