Nation Unites as Gelephu Mindfulness City Calls for Volunteers

The recent inauguration of the Gelephu International Airport (GIA) by His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and Their Royal Highnesses has sparked a wave of national pride and renewed commitment to Bhutan’s future. The historic event, which took place on July 8, marked a significant milestone in the development of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), envisioned as a model of holistic, sustainable living.

Building on this momentum, the Governor’s Office of the Gelephu Mindfulness City has issued an open call for volunteers from across Bhutan—and even abroad—to join this transformative initiative. The GMC, described as a “People’s Project,” aims to bring together citizens, families, institutions, and communities in translating the Royal vision into tangible action.

The response so far has been overwhelming, with heartfelt proposals and enthusiastic expressions of interest pouring in daily. Citizens from all walks of life are stepping forward, united by a shared sense of purpose and inspired by the Royal vision for a mindful and compassionate society.

To ensure wide and inclusive participation, the GMC has launched a dedicated volunteer registration portal: https://evolunteerregistration.gmc.bt. Interested individuals can sign up online and become part of this landmark national effort.
