FemTech Association Asia, the region’s premier advisory and industry network dedicated to advancing women’s health through technological innovations, has announced its official expansion into Bhutan. This strategic move, set to launch on November 11—the birthday of His Majesty the Fourth King—marks a significant milestone for the organization and underscores its commitment to fostering a comprehensive network across Asia.
With Bhutan now joining Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, FemTech Association Asia solidifies its presence in ten key Asian markets. This expansion aligns seamlessly with the association’s mission to drive innovation, education, and advocacy in women’s health, leveraging technology to address and overcome existing barriers.
“Launching FemTech Association Asia in Bhutan is a thrilling development for us,” stated Dorji Dhradul, Brand Ambassador of the Bhutan Chapter. “Bhutan’s longstanding dedication to health, happiness, and sustainable growth provides an ideal foundation for introducing femtech solutions that are both accessible and culturally resonant.”
FemTech, a term coined in 2016, encompasses a wide range of technologies aimed at meeting women’s health needs, from reproductive and maternal wellness to menstrual and mental health. The association’s initiative in Bhutan seeks to address these critical areas by collaborating with local stakeholders, including healthcare providers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community members.
“Our objective is to adopt a holistic approach to women’s health, ensuring that femtech solutions are not only available but also tailored to the unique cultural context of Bhutan,” Dhradul added. “By fostering partnerships and providing essential resources, we aim to empower women, raise awareness, and inspire entrepreneurial ventures that enhance healthcare accessibility.”
The expansion is part of FemTech Association Asia’s broader vision to champion health equity and utilize technology as a catalyst for health empowerment across the continent. By supporting over 75 femtech companies in ten Asian countries, the association is poised to drive meaningful change in women’s health outcomes through education, advocacy, and innovative technological solutions.
Bhutan’s unique emphasis on Gross National Happiness and its prioritization of holistic wellbeing make it an ideal partner for FemTech Association Asia. The alignment of these values ensures that the initiative will resonate deeply within the community, promoting sustainable and inclusive health advancements.
Lindsay Davis, Founder of FemTech Association Asia, emphasized the organization’s dedication to expanding its impact. “Our vision is to make healthcare for all women in Asia available, accessible, and affordable. Launching our network in Bhutan is a testament to our ongoing efforts to extend knowledge, solutions, and funding to support the women’s health movement throughout the region.”
Since its inception in October 2021, FemTech Association Asia has grown to become the largest specialist network in the region, providing a platform for founders, professionals, investors, and enthusiasts dedicated to improving women’s health through technology. The expansion into Bhutan not only broadens the association’s geographic footprint but also reinforces its commitment to fostering a supportive and innovative environment for femtech advancements.
FemTech Association Asia invites all interested parties in Bhutan—ranging from community members and healthcare providers to policymakers and entrepreneurs—to join in this transformative journey toward a more inclusive and technology-driven future for women’s health.
