His Majesty Strengthens Ties with Vietnam During State Visit

His Majesty The King and Queen embarked on a historic state visit to Vietnam, marking a significant moment in the diplomatic relationship between the two nations.

Upon arrival, Their Majesties paid solemn tribute to President Ho Chí Minh at his mausoleum, as well as to Vietnam’s war heroes and martyrs, underscoring the deep respect between Bhutan and Vietnam.

His Majesty held formal talks with President Luong Cuong and met with key Vietnamese leaders, including the General Secretary of the Communist Party and the Prime Minister. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening political, cultural, and economic ties.

Two Memoranda of Understanding were signed during the visit—one on government-to-government cooperation and another on aviation—paving the way for expanded connectivity and collaboration.

Her Majesty, in a gesture of cultural appreciation, visited the historic Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s most revered Buddhist sites.

The state visit concluded with a lavish banquet hosted by President Luong Cuong and the First Lady in honor of the royal couple. The event celebrated the shared values and growing friendship between the two nations, setting a positive course for future relations.
