As they arrived at Westminster Abbey, the Bhutan royals looked fashionable in traditional purple outfits. The King wore a traditional Bhutanese Gho, and the Queen wore a traditional Kira:
At today’s coronation, they were joined by monarchs from around the world, including kings and queens of Spain, Denmark, Tonga, Thailand, Jordan, and more.
His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen were in attendance at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022. While the royal couple never met the late Queen, they did meet then-Prince Charles and Camilla, then the Duchess of Cornwall, in 2011, and they famously welcomed Prince William and Kate Middleton to Bhutan in 2016.
Yesterday, the Bhutanese royals attended the pre-coronation reception at Buckingham Palace, and the two were all smiles as they entered the Palace in traditional outfits. They held hands as they posed for photos:
