The theme for the Siddhartha Festival Art Show is “Sahaja” (Sanskrit: spontaneous enlightenment). The show features approximately 80 Buddhist-inspired artworks created by 18 international artists. Siddhartha’s Intent aims to inspire artists and potential artists to express and share the Dharma through their creations while drawing all those who view it closer to Buddha’s wisdom.

It coincides with the Dzongsar Monlam, organized by the Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute, which takes place from October 18 to 27. The Dzongsar Monlam is a biennial event held at the very place where the Buddha attained enlightenment – under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. The Siddhartha Festival, which is set to celebrate the life of the Buddha and his teachings, features a two-day program of talks, chants, dance, and more from October 28 to 29.
The festival will not only showcase exceptional art but also include appearances from numerous special guests, adding to the spiritual and cultural richness of the event. Some of these notable guests include Kanho Yakushiji, a renowned Japanese monk, musician, and composer from the Rinzai school of Japanese Zen Buddhism, Parvathy Baul, a practitioner, performer, and teacher of the Baul tradition from Bengal, India, Dr. Prachi Jariwala, a trained Indian classical dancer, and Lucid Mantra, a producer and multi-instrumentalist based in the northeast Himalayas.
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, the visionary behind Siddhartha’s Intent and a spiritual luminary, has made significant contributions to the spread of Buddhist teachings and practices worldwide.
